Mission and Objectives
Integrate the technological expertise and innovative capabilities of the research and academic teams at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University with the strengths of Realtek Semiconductor Corp. in communications network and connected multimedia, advancing forward-looking technologies and interdisciplinary applications.
Establish a long-term and close academic–industrial research collaboration with Realtek to advance cutting-edge technologies, enhance R&D depth and breadth, cultivate high-level talent, and sustain Realtek’s global technological leadership.
Strengthen the University’s academic competitiveness by leveraging Realtek’s industry experience and multi-partner collaboration capabilities to cultivate well-rounded, industry-ready semiconductor professionals.

Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards

At the 2023 ISSCC—widely regarded as the “Olympics of the IC design community”—a total of 23 papers from Taiwan were accepted, marking the best performance in the past five years. Among them, the team led by Chair Professor Ke-Horng Chen of NYCU, in collaboration with Realtek achieved a record-high 7 accepted papers, the highest among all participating research teams.
Key Activities
Establishment of Research Teams
Align with Realtek’s core technologies and future development directions by facilitating collaboration with relevant faculty and research teams within the University, strengthening and expanding partnerships.
Talent Development
Support Realtek in establishing scholarships at the University and organizing internship programs, campus recruitment, and technical seminars.
Center Services
Provide comprehensive support for academic–industrial research collaboration projects with Realtek, including project management, intellectual property management, event planning, and meeting space services.
International Engagement
Integrate innovative ideas from faculty and students with Realtek’s globally competitive R&D capabilities, and present research result at leading international academic organizations and conferences in relevant fields.

- Low-power and highly secure Internet of Things (IoT) technologies
- Wireless communication technologies, including mid-range Wi-Fi and short-range Bluetooth
- Communication technologies for Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X)
- Wearable technologies and medical electronics
